1. Create Your Account
Sign up at cloudventory.io. You'll need to verify your email and set up MFA.
2. Connect Your AWS Account
From the dashboard, click Add AWS Account and select your authentication method:
🔐 IAM Role (Recommended) - Cross-account IAM role for secure, credential-free access.

Copy the trust policy JSON.

Create a new IAM role in your AWS account.

Attach one of:

ReadOnlyAccess (full visibility)

SecurityAudit (security-focused)

Paste the Role ARN into Cloudventory.
⏱ Temporary Credentials (STS) - For short-term access or one-time audits.

Access Key ID

Secret Access Key
-
Session Token
Credentials expire automatically.
🔑 Access Keys - Use only if IAM roles aren’t possible.

Paste your Access Key ID and Secret Access Key

Rotate keys regularly
3. Run Your First Scan
Once connected, click Scan Now to start an immediate scan.
Most scans complete in 5–15 minutes, depending on account size.
When the scan finishes, you’ll see:

Inventory — All discovered AWS resources across accounts and regions

Insights — Security, cost, and operational findings
4. Explore
Use the search bar to find resources across all connected accounts.
Try searching for:

An instance ID
-
A bucket name
-
A keyword like public
